Joshua Tree is located about one hour from Palm Springs, where the Mojave and Lower Colorado deserts join to form the park.

If you have part of a day, begin your tour at a one of the Visitor Centers.  With limited time you may want to confine your sightseeing to the main park roads. Many pullouts with wayside exhibits dot these roads. There are 12 self-guiding nature trails. and on clear days the vista from Keys View extends beyond Salton Sea to Mexico.

 Alpine resort located about two hours west of Palm Springs in the San Bernardino National Forest. A great day trip with shops, restaurants, art studios, Children's Museum and historic paddle wheeler tours. Stop by the Chamber of Commerce for visitor information located in the heart of the Lake Arrowhead Village.

Lake Cahuilla is located 4 mi. southeast of La Quinta., CA, about 45 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. 710 acre developed park has 56 campsites, 46 with electricity and water, 10 with water only. Other amenities include shore fishing in the 135-acre stocked lake, centrally located showers, a dump station, equestrian and hiking trails and picnicking. Individual camping is available on a first come, first serve basis or by reservation.
